hi, I'm SARAH
All I could think at the time was—WTF? How had I gotten it so wrong after all those years of therapy, all kinds of spiritual work, studying what it takes to be in a healthy relationship, and I got paid to help other people solve their problems for crying out loud?!
So I dropped everything I was doing and I went looking for answers.
Maybe it’s because we’re used to being the responsible ones, the headstrong ones, the ones who always show up for others. (Or maybe, I’m just projecting because, well, it happens to the best of us…).
But assuming that you can relate, I’m willing to bet that your "uber competent" self has managed to build a pretty damn good life—even after the heartbreak of divorce. You’ve got the job, the education, the savings, lots of self awareness under your belt, and you've mastered the art of being an independent, happy, and strong woman. But despite all that, there’s still something missing—having that soulful relationship you long for. And here’s the tricky part—you’re scared to admit it, because after all the inner work you’ve done, you feel like this should be way easier (and clearer) than it is.
I was searching for what I didn’t yet know about myself and what the heck had happened in my marriage. I was determined to uncover the unconscious patterns that kept me from the relationship I so deeply wanted.
At some point in my journey, I stumbled across Conscious Loving, by Gay and Katie Hendricks, which led me to the work of Dr. Julie Colwell, who then led me deeper into the work of Dr. David Hawkins. And that trio of teachers all helped me realize one thing: that despite 15+ years of on-and-off therapy, training, seminars, all kinds of holistic healing, books, and even a graduate degree in mental health…
Blame-free anger expression?
Because instead of trying to think yourself out of those relationship fears that are creeping around in the back of your mind, you can tune in and be with what’s happening inside of you. And not only does this connection with yourself support you in handling whatever comes your way, but it also supports you to build a relationship that is aligned with your truest self.
For years, my mind went into overdrive trying to fix, analyze, and basically kick my feelings to the curb. Turns out, by thinking about my feelings instead of, you know, actually feeling them, I was dodging the very thing that could’ve helped me to create that conscious, loving relationship I wanted. Who knew?! My feelings weren’t there to annoy me—they were the secret sauce to coming back home to myself. And guess what? They held the key to everything I was searching for.
Having navigated my own divorce dark night of the soul and worked with women who have done the same, I’ve noticed that despite all the previous inner work, many still feel stuck. They’re baffled as to why, after so much healing, they still lack the confidence and understanding for how to co-create a lasting, soul-level relationship.
That’s why I focus on working with women like you, because we're so good at using our minds to know all the things we’re supposed to be doing for emotional wellbeing and healthy relationships, yet we often struggle to let ourselves actually feel (and clear) the energy of our feelings. But when you learn to do this type of work? Everything just might shift, including your relationship with yourself, your current (or future!) partner, and life in general.
